The MV firm's real estate lawyers represent clients in all matters related to real estate property, including: buying and selling; financing; research of rights; and in the case of land with very problematic titles, registration with the Massachusetts Land Court.

In the area of municipal law, the firm represents five of the six Island towns, plus the Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank.  To that end, firm attorneys provide support at town meetings, answer questions regarding the legality of proposed warrant articles, represent the towns in challenges to board decisions and provide opinions when legal questions arise in the day-to-day business of government.

The firm’s estate planning and administration practice provides clients with assistance related to estate planning, estate filings with Massachusetts probate courts and related tax filings.

The corporate law practice represents clients in the creation of business entities and subsequent corporate filings, in the financing of corporate assets and in drafting contracts.

The firm’s civil litigators represent individual, corporate and municipal clients in matters that require court action.  The firm has represented its litigation clients at multiple state court levels, including the District Court, Superior Court, Appeals Court and the Supreme Judicial Court and in the Federal District Court and the First Circuit Court of Appeals, where it has experienced many notable successes.
