It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved founding partner, Ronald H. Rappaport, who died unexpectedly on June 7, 2024. Ron was a brilliant lawyer and fearless leader, a force of nature. He inspired every one of us to be and do our best. There is little on the Island he did not touch – counsel for five of the six Island towns and the Land Bank, past Steamship Authority Governor, Chair of the Board of Martha’s Vineyard Bank, Trustee of MV Youth, informal advisor to countless individuals and institutions, friend to so many. He loved this place and its people and showed it through his service. We are grateful for every day we had to know Ron and work with him. We are grateful he founded our firm with Jim Reynolds and Jane Kaplan based on their core principles -- public service, excellence, care. Those principles are Ron’s legacy to us – they are what he lived. We join his family and all who mourn his passing.
